What we make
- 01
Functional parts
Brackets, jigs, clips and snap-fits in tough PA12 nylon
- 02
Enclosures & housings
Durable cases and housings with no support marks
- 03
Moving assemblies
Living hinges and interlocking parts printed pre-assembled
- 04
Complex geometry
Internal channels, lattices and organic shapes, support-free
- 05
Small batches
10 to a few hundred units nested across one build
SLS nylon printing is what Additive Inn reaches for when a part has to work, not just look good. A laser fuses PA12 nylon powder layer by layer with no support structures, so the powder bed itself holds the part up. That means full design freedom: hinges, clips, ducts, and even moving assemblies print in one shot, in a tough plastic with real strength and a little flex.
When SLS is the right call
Choose SLS over FDM or SLA when strength and function beat surface finish:
- Functional parts: brackets, jigs, clips, snap-fits and enclosures that get used, not just displayed.
- Moving assemblies: living hinges and interlocking parts printed pre-assembled, with no supports to remove.
- Complex geometry: internal channels, lattices and organic shapes that would trap supports on other processes.
- Small batches: parts nest in 3D across the bed, so a packed build runs efficiently for 10 to a few hundred units.
Part of the whole workshop
SLS is one process under our 3D printing service. Need fine detail and a smooth, paintable surface instead? That is SLA resin. Not sure which fits? Send the file and the application and we recommend the process rather than quote blindly.
Upload an STL, STEP, OBJ or 3MF file to the instant quote tool for same-day pricing, or talk to us if the job needs a conversation first.
What's included
- PA12 nylon for tough, functional parts
- No support structures, so full design freedom
- Moving and interlocking parts printed pre-assembled
- Living hinges, clips, ducts and enclosures
- Prototypes through small production batches
- Same-day instant quote, priced by part weight
How we make it
-
Upload & quote
Send an STL, STEP, OBJ or 3MF through the instant quote tool and get a price the same day, no email gate.
-
Nest the build
Parts pack in 3D across the powder bed with no supports needed, so complex and interlocking geometry prints in one shot.
-
Print & cool
A laser fuses nylon powder layer by layer, then the bed cools before parts are dug out and the loose powder is recovered.
-
Clean & finish
Bead-blast the powder off, then leave natural grey or dye black. Parts can also be smoothed, painted or assembled.
-
QC & deliver
Dimensional and fit check before packing. Collect from Bendemeer or have it couriered islandwide.
Frequently asked
How much does SLS 3D printing cost in Singapore?
SLS nylon prints are priced by part weight, from S$0.50 to S$1.50 per gram. Because parts nest in 3D with no supports, a packed build can be cost-effective for small batches. Send your STL, STEP, OBJ or 3MF file through our instant quote tool for same-day pricing, and volume discounts start around 10 percent for 10 to 24 units.
When should I choose SLS over FDM or SLA?
Choose SLS when the part has to work, not just look good. SLS prints in PA12 nylon with no support structures, so it handles moving parts, living hinges, clips, ducts and enclosures that need strength and a little flex. FDM is cheaper for simple prototypes and large pieces, and SLA wins on fine detail and smooth display surfaces. For functional parts with no support marks, SLS is the pick.
What material does SLS use, and how strong is it?
Our SLS runs PA12 nylon, a tough engineering plastic with good impact resistance and a little flex before it breaks. It is strong enough for functional prototypes, jigs, brackets, clips and enclosures, and it holds fine features like thin walls and snap fits. We also run MJF nylon for similar functional jobs when it suits the part better.
Can SLS nylon parts be coloured or finished?
SLS parts come off the machine a natural matte grey with a slightly grainy surface. The most common finish is a uniform black dye, and parts can also be bead-blasted smooth, vapour-smoothed, spray painted in Pantone colours, or assembled in-house. Tell us the look you need and we finish it in the same workshop.
