Injection Molding
When you outgrow silicone molding (500+ identical units), injection molding takes over. We do the front-end design and DFM, partner with tooling shops for the run.
Capabilities
- DFM (design-for-manufacturability) review
- 3D-printed master and validation samples
- Material selection consultation (ABS, PP, PE, PC)
- Tooling-partner referral and management
- First-article approval
- Production-run quality checks
How we make it
- 01
Part DFM review
Walk through draft angles, undercuts, wall thickness, and gate locations before tool steel gets cut. The cheapest tool is the one you don't have to re-cut.
- 02
Tool design
Mold design with mold-flow simulation. Core, cavity, gates, runners, and ejector layout signed off before fabrication starts.
- 03
Tool fabrication
5-axis CNC machining of hardened steel mold cavities. We manage the tooling partner — Singapore, Malaysia, or China depending on budget.
- 04
Trial shots
First-article parts inspected against drawing tolerances. Adjust gate timing, pack pressure, and cooling before approving the run.
- 05
Production run
Full production batch with QC sampling. Parts shipped to your facility or held at our workshop for downstream assembly.
Injection molding is the right answer for 1,000+ identical units of the same part. The economics flip somewhere between 500 and 2,000 units depending on geometry.
We don’t run injection-mold tooling in-house — that’s a different kind of shop. What we do is the bridge: get your design through DFM review, produce validation samples, and hand off to a tooling partner with the work front-loaded.
What we handle
- Design for manufacturability — adjust geometry to remove undercuts, add draft, manage wall thickness, plan parting lines.
- Validation samples — 3D-printed in the actual production material (ABS, PP, PC) so you can pressure-test before tool steel gets cut.
- Material spec — recommend the right plastic for your application (mechanical, food-contact, optical, etc.).
- Tooling partner referral — we work with vetted shops in Singapore, Malaysia, and China depending on budget and timeline.
- First-article approval — review the first run from production tooling before you commit to volume.
When to start the conversation with us
- You have a working FDM/SLA prototype and want to scale to thousands of units.
- You’re at the design stage and want to avoid expensive tool re-cuts later.
- You’ve got a quote from a tooling shop and want a sanity check on the DFM.
Skip the months of back-and-forth on tooling drawings. We’ve taken parts from sketch to 50,000-unit production runs, and we know where the costs hide.
