Frequently asked
How much does 3D printing cost in Singapore?
FDM 3D printing starts at around S$0.10–0.30 per gram of filament. SLA resin is roughly 2–3x that for the same volume. SLS nylon is 4–6x. A typical hand-sized part runs S$15–80 in FDM, S$40–150 in SLA. Volume discounts kick in at 10+ identical units, scaling to 30% off at 100+.
How are 3D printing prices calculated?
Three factors: (1) volume of plastic used (grams of filament), (2) print time on the machine — FDM machines run S$3–5/hour, SLA ~S$8–12/hour, (3) post-processing labour (sanding, painting, electroplating). Geometry matters too — hollow parts with internal infill cost less than solid blocks of the same outside dimensions.
What's the cheapest way to 3D print in Singapore?
Use FDM with PLA filament, infill at 15%, no post-processing. For functional parts, that's the sweet spot. If you need 50+ identical pieces, silicone molding from a printed master is usually cheaper per unit than printing each one. Above 1,000 identical units, injection molding wins.
Are there volume discounts for 3D printing orders?
Yes. 10–24 units gets ~10% off; 25–99 units gets ~20% off; 100+ units gets ~30% off plus a custom quote. For runs above 500, we'll usually recommend silicone molding or refer you to a tooling partner for injection moulding — it's faster and cheaper at that volume.
Do you charge for 3D printing quotes?
No. The instant quote tool at additiveinn.com/3Dprint is free and unlimited. For complex jobs that need a manual review (multi-part assembly, custom finishing, design work), we quote within the same business day with no obligation.
How much does 3D printing finishing cost?
Indicative for a hand-sized part: sanding + primer S$15–30; full paint with topcoat S$30–80; electroplating S$60–150 depending on finish (chrome, gold, copper). Multi-part assemblies add S$10–40 depending on complexity. We quote finishing per part with no minimum order.
