What we brought
What we can do
Designed on your own shoes
We shaped each bracket to the heel of Danial's trainers and checked it with a white test print.
How we look after you
Sculpted detail that prints cleanly
Horns, teeth and scales were sculpted in 3D, then printed in resin to keep the fine detail.
What you get
Finished to look like metal
Primer and gold spray paint turn the printed resin into what reads as solid gold.

The brief
Step 1 of 5
- Fit
- Onto the heel of the client's own trainers
- Pair
- Mirrored left and right dragons
- Finish
- Gold
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed and made a pair of dragon heads for Danial's trainers. He wanted each dragon to fix onto the heel of his own shoes and look like solid gold.
Design and prototyping
Step 2 of 5
We sculpted each dragon head in 3D on a bracket shaped to the shoe's heel, with screw holes to fix it in place. A white test print, fitted on the shoe, checked the fit and measurements before anything was printed in resin.
Production
Step 3 of 5
Each dragon head and its heel bracket were printed in resin as one piece, as a mirrored pair, keeping the fine detail of the horns, teeth and scales.
Build and assembly
Step 4 of 5
We primed both dragons and sprayed them gold, then fixed each one to the heel of the client's trainers with screws through the bracket.
The final build
Step 5 of 5
Danial got his trainers back with a gold dragon rising from each heel. The brackets follow the shape of the shoe's own heel, so each dragon sits as if it came with the shoe.
