Custom Acrylic Signage

We’re an acrylic signage maker in Singapore, designing and making custom signs at our Bendemeer studio: 3D acrylic letters, backlit and lit signs, printed sign boards and 3D-printed sculptural signs, finished and pre-fitted so they go up fast. 3D acrylic letters and logos

3D acrylic letters are laser-cut from solid sheet, anywhere from 3 mm to 25 mm thick, so the thickness you choose is the depth the letters show. Mounted on stand-offs, they float off the wall and throw a shadow behind them; mounted flush, they read as clean and flat. Faces can be painted to a Pantone match, UV-printed in full colour or left clear, and mirrored and metallic-finish acrylics are an option too. They’re the usual choice for a reception wall, an office lobby or a shop sign.

For more depth, a second layer of acrylic can go on top of the first. Our online sign studio cuts 3, 5 or 10 mm sheet and adds a 3 mm top layer if you want one; anything thicker, up to 25 mm, is a bespoke job.

When a letter needs chamfered edges, curves or real sculptural depth that flat sheet can’t give, we 3D-print it instead and finish it by hand. More on that below.

Backlit and lighted acrylic signs

Light changes how a sign reads, especially in a lobby or a mall at night. There are three ways we light acrylic:

• Edge-lit: LEDs run along the edge of a clear or frosted panel, and the engraved or printed artwork catches the light and glows.
• Halo-lit: letters stand off the wall with the light behind them, so it washes the wall in a soft halo around each letter.
• Backlight box: the light sits in a box behind a printed acrylic face, so the whole graphic glows evenly.

A lit sign takes 2 to 3 days longer than an unlit one, for the LED work.

Acrylic sign boards and panels

A sign board is a printed acrylic panel: your artwork printed in full colour, mounted on stand-offs, from 100 × 60 mm up to 900 × 450 mm. It suits a logo or a notice on a wall, and you can order a panel online, sized and priced in the browser. If you’d rather have the sign cut to the outline of your logo, that’s a cut-out sign, ordered the same way.

Shop signs and storefronts

Inside a shop or a mall unit, 3D acrylic letters on stand-offs are the usual choice, often paired with a backlit panel so the name glows. Acrylic is happiest indoors, though. For a sign that lives outside, we recommend ASA or aluminium composite instead, finished with UV-cured topcoats. Tell us where the sign is going and we’ll specify it for that spot.

Flat acrylic or 3D printed?

• Flat acrylic wins when the brand mark is essentially 2D and you want crisp edges, edge-glow, or transparency. Laser-cut to ±0.1 mm and cheaper per unit at any volume.
• 3D printed wins when the sign has depth, undercuts, complex curves, or sculptural form, like a brand mascot, a building-shape directory, an oversized 3D logo with chamfered edges. We print in PLA, PETG, and stereolithography (SLA) resin, and finish with the same paint, electroplating, and clear-coating we use on trophies.

Many jobs use both, for example a laser-cut acrylic backboard with 3D-printed dimensional letters mounted on top. We design for the mix when it serves the piece.

Wayfinding, room and office signs

Directories, room and door signs, washroom plates and exhibition labels are made the same way, and work best ordered as a set so every sign matches. Room plates are often laser engraved rather than printed, so there’s no printed layer to scratch off.

• Mirrored and metallic-finish acrylics
• 3D-print materials: PLA, PETG, ABS, resin, selective laser sintering (SLS) nylon
• Edge-polishing for premium clear edges
• UV print over the surface for full-colour graphics
• Spray paint, electroplate (chrome, gold, copper, brass), and clear-coat options for printed parts
