What we brought
What we can do
Two messages in one sign
Each of the eight pieces is shaped to read as one character from one side and another from the other, so one sign carries a name and 50&FAB.
How we look after you
One colour per piece
Each piece is a single colour, so both readings come out in the same blue, red, yellow and green.
What you get
Checked from both sides first
Three revisions of renders, from the left, from the right and turning, let the client check both readings and the size before we printed.

The brief
Step 1 of 5
- Reads
- A name on one side, 50&FAB on the other
- Our scope
- 3D design over three revisions, then the print
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed and 3D printed a two-way desk sign for a private client. Seen from one side it reads a name. From the other it reads 50&FAB, between two diamonds.
Three revisions
Step 2 of 5
Each character is shaped so that it reads as one letter from one side and as another from the other side. We took the sign through three revisions, each shown from the left, from the right and turning.

The print
Step 3 of 5
We 3D printed the sign as separate parts: each of the eight characters in its own colour, blue, red, yellow or green, and the base in black.
Putting it together
Step 4 of 5
The eight pieces stand in a row on the black base, in the order that spells both readings.
The final build
Step 5 of 5
The client received the finished sign. From one side it reads 50&FAB, and from the other the name, in the same four colours.
