What we brought

  1. What we can do

Fine resin detail that still turns

Every fan blade and compressor stage is printed in resin by SLA, and the fan and rotors spin by hand.

  2. How we look after you

Your file, our display, agreed in renders

We built the base, plate and case around ST Engineering's own engine file, agreed over four rounds of renders.

  3. What you get

    Ready for the ceremony

Every engine came cased and ready, and the guest of honour's piece was presented on stage at the opening.

Starting point
The client's own 3D engine file

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made cutaway jet engine models for ST Engineering Aerospace Engines, as gifts for its expansion opening ceremony. Each model, made from the client's own engine file, had to show the engine's insides at a glance.

Design and prototyping

Step 2 of 5

We scaled the engine file and designed the display around it. The first renders sat the engine on a cradle stand with a small branded plate; each round after that was agreed on screen before printing.

  1. Revision 0

First renders, on a cradle stand.

  2. Revision 1

The engine floated on clear rods over a sloped black base with the Golden Years Ahead logo.

  3. Revision 2

We worded the plate for the guest of honour, with and without the Golden Years Ahead logo on the base.

  4. Revision 3

We added a clear acrylic case over the base, 306 by 156 mm.

  5. Base options

We also offered two alternative bases: a block on a glossy plate, or a plain plinth.

Step 3 of 5

Every engine was printed in resin by SLA from the scaled file: fan, compressor and turbine stages, shaft and the cut-open casing. The fan and rotors were kept free to turn.

Build and assembly

Step 4 of 5

We primed and painted the blades and rotors gold, the casing silver and the spinner black, then mounted each engine on clear acrylic rods over a branded black base, inside a clear acrylic case. The guest of honour's base also carries a metal plate.

The final build

Step 5 of 5

The guest of honour's engine was presented on stage at ST Engineering Aerospace Engines' expansion opening ceremony on 15/09/2025. Its fan and rotors still turn by hand, under a clear case for display.
