At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we delivered metal car emblems for JMS Rogers. They had a small metal badge and their vector logo, and needed it larger, coloured to match, with two posts behind to fix it to a car grille.

Cast, plated and coloured

Step 2 of 4

The emblems were die-cast in zinc alloy from the client's vector logo, with the wings, crown and lion in raised relief. Each was polished and plated, then coloured yellow, black and red and lacquered. The proof was approved before tooling began.

Two ways to fix it

Step 3 of 4

Two fittings for one design. Ten emblems carry two threaded posts, with a slotted plate and threaded rods to fix them to a car grille. A second order of ten, from 11/02/2022, has an adhesive back instead, cut to the emblem's outline.

The final build

Step 4 of 4

JMS Rogers received twenty emblems, ten for the grille and ten to stick on. The crest reads the same as the logo: a black lion on a yellow shield, five red stars, a crown and spread wings.
