What we brought

  1. What we can do

The gold chosen from real samples

We sprayed two matte golds matched to the Consulate's reference, and they chose between them in hand.

  2. How we look after you

Fabrication started while the colour was settled

With the Consulate's agreement, the plate was cut before the gold was final, so the colour change cost no time.

  3. What you get

A second version for the day

When the Consulate asked for an acrylic version too, we made it to the same artwork and size in days.

Use
Wall-mounted commemorative plaque

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made the plaque for the opening of the Singapore Consulate-General's Chancery in Johor Bahru. The Consulate needed a gold plaque carrying the State Crest and their wording, ready for collection before the opening on 03/09/2026.

Design and prototyping

Step 2 of 5 · 25/08/2026

We laid out the Consulate's artwork on a 550 by 400 mm plate, 5 mm thick: the State Crest centred at the top and the wording beneath. Four 10.5 mm holes at 490 mm centres take the standoffs we supplied.

  2. Revision 1 · 26/08/2026

The Consulate switched to the other of the two matte golds we had sampled. Nothing else changed.

Production

Step 3 of 5 · 30/08/2026

With the Consulate's agreement, fabrication started on 25/08/2026 while the gold was settled. The plate was laser cut from 5 mm aluminium and drilled, then primed before paint. The crest was also printed on paper on 27/08/2026.

Build and assembly

Step 4 of 5 · 31/08/2026

The face was sprayed in the chosen matte gold, then the crest and wording were UV printed in full colour. On 31/08/2026 the Consulate added an acrylic version of the same design, 55 by 40 cm, to choose from on the day.

The final build

Step 5 of 5 · 01/09/2026

The aluminium plaque was ready for collection on 01/09/2026, two days before the Chancery opened, with its standoffs for mounting. The acrylic version carries the same artwork.
