At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we make a blue bar for a device built by QuantumTX. In September 2026 the client came back for 20 more in a new colour, Pantone 300C, printed from their own STEP file to the same specification as the order before.

Colour sample

Step 2 of 5 · 07/10/2026

We painted one bar in Pantone 300C and photographed it beside the Pantone swatch, so the client could judge the colour before we painted the rest. We also checked the length against the client's file, 285.5 mm, and the client confirmed it. The client approved the colour the same evening.

Printing, sanding and paint

Step 3 of 5

The bars are printed in an ABS-like SLA resin at 0.05 mm layers, hollow with a 2 mm wall. Each bar is sanded smooth, then spray-painted to the approved sample.

Drying, checks and packing

Step 4 of 5 · 16/10/2026

Painted bars stay on the rack until the paint is fully dry, so they can be handled without leaving fingerprints or marks. Then each bar is checked, and the batch is boxed and sealed for delivery.

Sealed and handed over for delivery.

The final build

Step 5 of 5 · 16/10/2026

We sent 22 bars to QuantumTX's office on 16 October 2026: the 20 ordered and two spares, all in Pantone 300C.
