What we brought
What we can do
One design, three shields
The Rail, Bus and P2P shields share one shape and layout. Only the title, the line about the award and the names change.
How we look after you
Name plates that follow the curve
Ten round name plates sit along the curve of the teal panel. Four carry past winners and the rest are left blank.
What you get
Every finish named in the design
Each revision named how its parts would be finished: DTF stickers for the logo, printed names, and in the final design a UV-printed panel and outline.

The build
How we built it
3 steps, from the brief to the finished piece. Pick a step to jump to it.
The brief
Step 1 of 3
- Size
- About 12 inches (300 mm) tall
- Versions
- Rail, Bus and P2P
- Our scope
- 3D design and modelling, design for manufacture
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed a challenge shield for FOIT Pte Ltd. The brief was a shield-shaped award board about 12 inches tall, with a name plate for each winner, designed from FOIT's reference. FOIT asked for the design only, delivered as 3D files.
Four revisions
Step 2 of 3
- Name plates
- Ten per shield, round in the final design
- Finishes in the design
- UV-printed panel and outline, DTF sticker logo
We took the shield through four revisions, from a plain shield with rows of small plates to a curved teal panel with round name plates. Each revision went to FOIT as renders, with the finish of each part named.

Revision 0
A shield 200 mm wide, 300 mm tall and 5 mm thick, crossed by two stripes, with rows of name plates 39 by 13.1 mm. The names were to be printed and the logo a DTF sticker.

Revision 1
The same 200 by 300 mm shield with ten name plates in two groups set off by red and navy stripes, the title and awards logo as DTF stickers, and a stand at the back.

Revision 2
The stripes went. A thin red line follows the edge, the title and logo sit in the middle, and five name plates run down each side.

Revision 3
A teal panel sweeps down the shield and carries the title, a line about the award and the awards logo. Ten round name plates follow its curve. We drew it in three versions, Rail, Bus and P2P, and laid each one out flat as the outline for UV printing.

Step 3 of 3
FOIT received the 3D files of the final design, with renders of all three shields: Rail, P2P and Bus, each on a stand at the back.
