Living with the A1 mini

The smallest and quietest machine we sell, and the one most likely to end up on a desk instead of in a workshop. Under 48dB in silent mode is quiet enough to run beside you while you work, and full-auto calibration means there's genuinely nothing to level or tune.

The 180 x 180 x 180mm build volume is the real decision. It covers miniatures, toys, small brackets, phone stands and most gadget-sized work comfortably. It doesn't cover helmets, large vases or anything you'd call a panel.

The bed stops at 80°C, and that's the hard limit on materials: PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA are all it should run. ABS, ASA, PC and the nylons need 90 to 120°C and an enclosure, and you get neither here. Add an AMS lite for four colours. It's the cheapest multi-colour setup we sell.

Living with the A1

The same effortless open frame as the A1 mini, in a full 256 x 256 x 256mm build volume. That's the size most people find they actually need. Automatic calibration, active flow-rate compensation and a one-click nozzle swap mean very little of your time goes into the machine instead of the print.

It suits homes, classrooms and studios printing PLA, PETG and TPU all day. It's also the quietest full-size machine here, with active motor noise cancelling. That matters more than people expect when a print runs 14 hours.

It's still open-frame, so ABS and ASA aren't recommended, and PC and nylon are out. If you know you'll need those, a P1S costs more but takes the ceiling away entirely. Units ship with the upgraded heatbed cable: Kevlar reinforcement, thicker insulation and extended strain relief.

Living with the A2L

The large-format machine in the A series, and the cheapest way to a big build volume we sell. At 330 x 320 x 325mm it matches the H2C plate almost exactly, but on an open frame with A-series economics. Bambu rates it at 49dB.

It's for you if your problem is size, not materials. Helmets, cosplay parts, large planters, tall vases and full-size props that won't fit an A1. It calibrates itself the same way, runs a servo extruder with a built-in filament cutter, and takes the AMS lite for four colours.

The trade is the same one the rest of the A series makes. The bed stops at 80°C and the frame is open, so the list is PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA. ABS, ASA, PC and the nylons aren't on it. If you need a part that's both large and made of ABS, that's an H series machine, not this one.

The toolhead also cuts and draws

Swap the toolhead cover for the cutting module and the A2L isn't only a printer any more. It cuts paper, PVC, vinyl and leather up to 0.5mm thick over a 300 x 300mm area. It also knows which blade or pen is fitted, and which cutting mat is on the bed.

Fit a pen instead of a blade and it plots over a 300 x 255mm area, taking pens between 10.5 and 12.5mm. It imports bitmap and vector artwork alike, so stickers, stencils, decals and drawings all come off the same machine that printed the part they go on.

It's a genuinely different tool from the laser on the H series. A blade cuts thin flexible stock cleanly and quietly, with no fume extraction to plan for. It won't cut plywood or engrave metal. The cutting module is sold separately from both configurations on this page.

Living with the P1S

The value workhorse of the range, and the machine we recommend most often. Enclosed CoreXY, set up in about 15 minutes, and fast: up to 20,000mm/s² acceleration puts a Benchy on the plate in around 18 minutes.

The enclosure is what you're buying. It traps the heat the bed gives off, which is enough to stop ABS and ASA curling off the plate. That one fact roughly doubles the material list compared with an A1. A built-in camera handles remote monitoring and timelapses.

The chamber is passive, not actively heated, so nylon and the high-temperature fibre blends are still out of reach. Those want an X2D or an H series. Adding an AMS needs a filament buffer or hub depending on how many units you chain, so tell us the plan and we'll get the parts right.

Living with the P2S

The P1S formula brought up to date. Same 256 x 256 x 256mm enclosed CoreXY footprint, with a hardened-steel nozzle and extruder gear as standard, a built-in filament cutter and a next-generation servo extruder. At 15kg it's a solid, quiet machine.

It suits a busy studio that wants P1S economics with fewer consumable worries. The hardened nozzle as standard matters more than it sounds. Glow, sparkle, marble, wood and the carbon-fibre PLAs are all in scope from day one, without buying anything extra.

The nozzle tops out at 300°C and the bed at 110°C, so PPA-CF and PPS-CF stay out of reach. It powers one AMS 2 Pro for drying directly, without the separate switching adapter an X1 or P1 needs. That's a real saving if drying is why you want the AMS.

Living with the X2D

Two genuinely independent nozzles in a compact enclosed frame, with a 65°C actively heated chamber. That combination is what separates it from everything below it. Active chamber heating brings nylon and the carbon-fibre blends properly into range, in a machine that still fits on a bench.

The second nozzle changes the economics of multi-material work. A single-nozzle machine purges the old colour into a waste tower at every change, and on a four-colour print that tower can eat more filament than the part. Two nozzles cut that right down, and soluble supports come out cleanly because the two materials never share a melt zone.

Both nozzles have to run the same type and size of hotend, so plan the pair together. Full filament-path AI detection catches tangles and runouts before they ruin an overnight job. One or two AMS 2 Pro units connect directly; three or more need the 4-in-1 PTFE adapter.

Living with the H2S

The entry into large format. A 340 x 320 x 340mm build volume, a 350°C nozzle and a 65°C actively heated chamber. Same sensor suite and optical calibration as the H2D, but a single nozzle and a lower price.

It's the right machine when your constraint is size or material rather than colour changes. Helmets, panels, large enclosures and full-size functional parts all fit, and the 350°C hotend with a hot chamber puts nylon and the high-temperature blends genuinely within reach.

With an AMS it still does multi-colour work, just with a purge tower instead of a second nozzle. There's a 10W laser and cutting module if you want engraving on the same machine. Chaining more than one AMS needs the 4-in-1 PTFE adapter, and Singapore units ship in the 200 to 240V configuration.

Living with the H2D

The flagship. Everything the H2S gives you plus a second independent nozzle, in a 350 x 320 x 325mm build volume with 5μm optical motion calibration. It's the most capable single machine we sell, and the one most of our own production runs on.

Dual nozzles, a hot chamber and large format is the combination that covers just about every job. Multi-material engineering parts, soluble supports on complex geometry, large one-piece prints, fast colour work, all on one bed.

It’s also the only machine that takes the 40W laser, which cuts up to 15mm plywood, alongside the 10W option. That makes it a genuine second tool rather than a novelty. It does need venting and bench discipline, so talk to us about the room before you order the 40W.

Living with the H2C

The production machine of the range. The Vortek system swaps between up to seven hotends mid-print, which is a completely different approach to multi-material. Instead of purging one nozzle clean between colours, it changes the nozzle.

That’s a commercial difference rather than a technical one. Purge waste is what makes multi-colour printing expensive, and on a long run the Vortek changer cuts the filament cost and the print time a lot. Three-stage air filtration and real-time clog detection are after the same thing: a machine that runs unattended, repeatably, all day.

It takes up to 24 filaments with AMS units and reaches 350°C with a 65°C chamber. The Vision Encoder holds it to 50μm motion accuracy, and it takes the 10W or 40W laser. If you're printing to sell rather than to make, this is the one that pays for itself. If you're not, an H2D does nearly everything for less.

An open frame sets the material list

The A series prints beautifully and calibrates itself, and for PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA there's no reason to spend more. What it can't do is hold heat around the part, and that one fact decides the material list.

ABS, ASA, PC and the nylons shrink as they cool. Without an enclosure they lift off the plate and split between layers, so Bambu lists them as not recommended and we'd say the same. The A1 mini and the A2L also stop at an 80°C bed, below the 90 to 120°C those materials need.

Multi-colour on this family means the AMS lite. It's A-series only, it sits on its own stand, and it doesn't dry. If you want drying and sealed storage on an A1, an AMS 2 Pro will work with the A1 series AMS Hub.

The enclosure is what you're paying for

A P series machine is a CoreXY in a closed box, and that box is the whole point. Trapped heat keeps the part warm as it prints, which is what stops ABS and ASA curling off the plate. It's the cheapest way to print them reliably.

Everything an A1 prints, a P1S or P2S prints too. Add ABS, ASA and PC to the list, and with an AMS up to 16 colours in a single part. Set-up is about 15 minutes out of the box.

The chamber is passive: it holds the heat the bed gives off instead of heating deliberately. That covers ABS and ASA comfortably, but nylon and the high-temperature fibre blends want the active chamber on an X2D or H series.

Two nozzles, not one

A single-nozzle machine changes colour by purging the old filament out into a waste tower. It works, but a four-colour print can spend more material on the tower than on the part.

The X2D carries two independent nozzles, so one of them can hold a support or a second colour without purging. Multi-material jobs finish faster and with far less waste, and soluble supports come out cleanly because the two materials never share a melt zone.

It adds a 65°C actively heated chamber to the P series formula, which brings nylon and the carbon-fibre blends properly into range. Both nozzles have to run the same type and size of hotend.

Large format, hot chamber

The H series exists for the work the rest of the range can't take on: parts bigger than 256mm, and the engineering materials that need a 350°C nozzle and a chamber actively held at 65°C. PPS-CF at 310 to 340°C runs on nothing else we sell.

H2S is the single-nozzle entry. H2D adds a second nozzle and the option of a laser. H2C adds the Vortek hotend changer: it swaps between up to seven hotends mid-print and cuts the purge waste that makes multi-colour expensive. That's what makes it the production machine of the range.

All three take up to four AMS units plus eight AMS HT units, for 24 filaments in one print. One or two AMS 2 Pro units connect directly; beyond that you need the 4-in-1 PTFE adapter.

One printer prints one colour

A printer on its own loads a single spool. To print more than one colour or material in the same part you need an AMS, which parks up to four spools and swaps between them mid-print.

The With AMS configurations on this page bundle the right unit with the machine, and that's cheaper than buying the two separately. If you already own the printer, the units are sold on their own on the AMS page.

One thing to know before you buy: every colour change purges filament into a waste tower, so a four-colour print uses noticeably more material than a single-colour one. The H2C's Vortek changer exists to solve exactly that, and that's why it costs what it does.

Laser and cutting, on the same machine

The Laser combo configurations add a laser and cutting module, so one machine engraves, cuts and prints. The 10W module suits engraving and thin stock; the 40W, available on the H2D and H2C, cuts up to 15mm plywood.

It's a genuine second tool rather than a novelty, but it needs venting and a bit of bench discipline. Talk to us about the room it's going in before you order the 40W.

Materials are the real constraint. An open-frame machine will physically print ABS, but the part warps off the plate and splits between layers, so it isn't worth attempting.
