Custom Stainless Steel Housing

A bespoke stainless steel housing we fabricated to a customer’s exact requirements. Cut and rolled from sheet metal into nested cylindrical sections, it clamps closed with quick-release toggle latches and opens on welded hinges, with cutouts placed to suit what it holds. It is a straightforward piece of custom metalwork, built to fit a specific piece of the customer’s equipment.

Cut and bent to spec

The job started with the customer’s dimensions and worked back to a flat pattern. We cut the stainless steel sheet to shape, including the window and slot cutouts, then rolled and bent it into the cylindrical sections. Working in stainless keeps the housing strong and corrosion resistant, and cutting the pattern accurately is what lets the rolled sections line up and close cleanly.

Latches, hinges and a clean fit

To make the housing usable, we added quick-release toggle latches and hinges so it opens and clamps shut quickly and repeatably. Each latch and hinge was fitted so the two halves close tight and stay aligned. The result is a rugged, made-to-measure stainless enclosure, cut and bent to the customer’s requirements and ready to protect what goes inside.
