What we brought

  1. What we can do

Fine detail that holds under a mirror finish

The lion's mane and the lettering were printed crisp enough to read clearly through the mirror chrome.

  2. How we look after you

Every option laid out before we print

We laid out the force's crests and value words in several styles on one page before printing began.

  3. What you get

A ceremonial piece in the force's own words

A lion on a gold disc crowns the mirror chrome dome, with the force's name lettered round its rim.

The brief

Step 1 of 5

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made a ceremonial mace for the Singapore Police Force. It needed a lion head, the force's name and its values, and a finish that reads as polished metal.

Concept

Step 2 of 5

We laid out the options on one page: crests from the force's history beside the state crest and today's police crest, and the values Courage, Loyalty, Integrity and Fairness, with Setia & Bakti and Honour & Unity, in plain and script lettering.

Production

Step 3 of 5

We 3D printed the head in white: the lion on top, the dome below it, and SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE lettered round the dome's rim above a tapered neck.

Build & assembly

Step 4 of 5

The head was finished in mirror chrome, with the lion standing on a gold disc lettered in script, and fitted to its shaft. We then worked over the lettering by hand with a fine tool, so FAIRNESS reads cleanly on the dome.

The final build

Step 5 of 5

On 03/06/2025 the chrome head stood on its shaft in our workshop, the shaft still in its wrapping, with FAIRNESS lettered cleanly on the dome.
