At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made Spartan statue trophies for 6 SIR's 17th Mono. As the battalion closed down, its last batch, The Last Spartans, wanted to thank its leaders with an award that carried that name.
Production
Step 2 of 4
Each Spartan was printed in grey resin as one piece: figure, shield and textured ground. Supports held it up during the print and came off afterwards; the hand was left open for the spear.
Build and assembly
Step 3 of 4
We primed the figure, finished it in bronze and fitted a slim spear in its hand. Each Spartan was then glued onto a black base, behind raised THE LAST SPARTAN lettering and above a gold plate with the 6 SIR crest and the leader's name.
The final build
Step 4 of 4
Three leaders each received a Spartan in their own name, from the 17th Mono 6 SIR PSOs and core team. Clear acrylic cases keep the trophies on display.
Finish close-ups
The raised lettering, the named plate and the scale armour up close, all in bronze and gold.
