Red Hat Soccer Ball Trophies

For Red Hat’s CY25 APAC awards, we built a set of golden soccer ball trophies: one large ball for the APAC Top Region of the Year and matching balls for the 100% Region winners, with plates for Japan and SEAK. Each ball sits mid-bounce on a sculpted golden rock, every panel seam crisp, with the award lettered in gold on a black hexagon panel.

A golden ball for the top region

The brief called for a football with real presence, so the design leans into the classic golden-ball award. The ball is modelled with stitched panel seams that catch the light, and the front hexagon is finished in black so the award title reads cleanly in gold. The winning region’s trophy is printed larger than the rest, which makes the hierarchy obvious the moment the set is on stage.

Printed, painted, plated

Each trophy was 3D printed as a ball and a sculpted rock pedestal, then painted in layered metallic gold so the panels shade naturally instead of looking flat. The bases are wrapped with brushed-metal plates carrying the Red Hat logo and each winner’s region. It is a set built to be handed over in front of a room: recognisable at a distance, sharp up close and consistent across all three.
