At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made three golden football trophies for Red Hat's CY25 APAC awards. The design came with the brief as a 3D file, and all three were needed by 13/01/2026 for an event in Las Vegas.
Design and prototyping
Step 2 of 5
We split the supplied model into a two-piece ball, a rock pedestal and a base, joined by pegs, strengthened it for printing and scaled it to height. The render set the finish: antique gold, a matt black award panel and a silver plate.
Production
Step 3 of 5
We 3D printed the four parts of each trophy: two ball shells, the rock pedestal and the base. Printing in parts made every surface easier to finish cleanly before paint.
Build and assembly
Step 4 of 5
We primed and painted the parts antique gold, the front panel matt black with the award lettered in gold, and pegged them together. Brushed silver plates carry the Red Hat logo and the winning region, fitted once the results were in.
The final build
Step 5 of 5
The finished set: Japan's Top Region of the Year trophy stands tallest, beside two 100% Region of the Year awards. Each went into a kraft gift box with custom foam.
