ICA Automated Border Clearance Gate Model
We built this presentation model of ICA’s Automated Border Clearance System, the uni-directional passenger gates that travellers use to self-clear immigration. It captures a bank of gates in miniature: sculpted white bodies with grey caps and red-and-blue trim, clear swing-flaps, ICA crests and camera heads, and the green-arrow and red-cross status lights, all set on an LED-lit lane base marked with footprints.
How we made it
Every gate was 3D-printed in SLA resin for the smooth, moulded look of the real hardware, then cleaned, cured and assembled. We primed and hand-airbrushed each body, applied the ICA crests, camera-head graphics and lane markings as fine decals, and set the gates onto a printed base lit from within so the walkway glows like the real thing.
The finished piece sits under a clear acrylic display case, ready for exhibition. At this scale the detail does the talking: the numbered lanes, the red-cross and green-arrow indicators and the crisp ICA branding all read at a glance.
