What we brought
What we can do
Two materials, one design
The heading and heart are cut from wood and sit on the brass plate above the printed wording, the pairing shown with wood and brass samples in Revision 1.
How we look after you
Seven layouts side by side
Revisions 1 and 2 set out seven layouts, with triangles, a wave or arcs along the foot, so the client could choose before anything was made.
What you get
Planned to hang from the start
Revision 0 fixed the plate, its four corner holes and the standoffs with a hook, so the artwork was laid out around the fixings.

The brief
Step 1 of 5
- Size
- 670 x 470 mm, upright
- Materials
- Brass plate, wood heading and heart
- Our scope
- Design over five revisions, laser cutting, printing, 3D printed mounting parts
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made the opening plaque for the Hut of Kasih Sayang, for Kampong Kapor Community Services. It carries the Hut's name set in a heart with a chimney, the tagline "Where community comes alive", the opening wording and date, and the client's logo.
Five revisions
Step 2 of 5
We took the plaque through five revisions, from a first layout with its fixings to the final artwork. Each one went to the client as a slide.

Revision 0
The plate and how it hangs: 670 by 470 mm with a hole in each corner, 630 by 430 mm apart, held off the wall on standoffs with a hook. The heading and heart stood proud of the plate, with the wording below and a band of triangles along the foot.

Revision 1
Three layouts on a brass-coloured ground, with triangles, a wave or arcs along the foot, and the two materials proposed: wood for the heading and heart, brass for the plate.

-
Revision 2
Four layouts: three bands of triangles, labelled 1A, 1B and 1C, and the arcs as Option 2, the last with the tagline in red.
Render
-
Revision 3
Option 1B's zigzag band of triangles, with the tagline now in red and the triangles still in an older colour palette.

Revision 4
The final design: the triangles recoloured in pinks, beiges and browns, with a little more space between the tagline and the wording.
Cut, printed and 3D printed
Step 3 of 5
We laser cut the heading and the heart from wood, printed the wording, the logo and the band of triangles in colour, and 3D printed the mounting parts in our studio: spacers and hook clips for the standoffs.
Putting it together
Step 4 of 5
The wood heading and heart went onto the brass plate above the printed wording. The plate hangs through its four corner holes on standoffs, with the 3D printed spacers and hook clips, as drawn in Revision 0.
The final build
Step 5 of 5
We made the brass plaque for the official opening of the Hut of Kasih Sayang on 26 January 2026: the heading and heart in wood, the wording and the band of triangles in the final colours.
