What we brought

  1. What we can do

    We model from a photo

We built the 3D model from a reference photo of the real sensor.

  2. How we look after you

    Big parts, few joins

Two printed parts, each about 200 mm across, meet at one seam, where the real unit has one.

  3. What you get

It reads as the real thing

White body, blue band and the brand's logo: the replica reads as the real sensor at a glance.

The brief

Step 1 of 4

From
A reference photo of the real sensor and the brand's logo
Size
About 200 mm across

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we modelled and 3D printed a display replica of the Dedrone RF-360 drone sensor for a private client. They needed it to look like the real unit, made from photos and references.

Fabrication

Step 2 of 4

We modelled the sensor from the reference photo, then 3D printed it in white PLA as two parts, a top and a bottom, each about 200 mm across.

Fine print lines under the white finish.

Build and assembly

Step 3 of 4

The two printed parts join at a seam low on the body, in the same place as the line on the real sensor.

The seam where the two parts meet.

The final build

Step 4 of 4

The finished replica has the real sensor's shape in white, with the blue band round its middle and a Dedrone logo label below it.
