Interasia saw each round in renders. The stacks came down from six to five high, and the bridge with them.

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed and 3D printed a 1.2 m model of the container ship Interasia Transcend for Interasia, made to hang on its wall.
Design & fitment
Step 2 of 5
Each container is printed on its own and slides onto pegs along the hull, so the stacks go together in order. Interasia saw the model in renders over three rounds.

A 1.2 m hull with rows of pegs for the containers, and printed stickers planned for the hull and deck.

Five-high stacks instead of six, a bridge lowered to match, and a French cleat on the back for the wall.

Fabrication
Step 3 of 5
The hull was printed in navy with a red band and left as printed, its layer lines and split lines kept as part of the design. The containers were printed one by one in red, white and navy.
Build and assembly
Step 4 of 5
The containers slid onto the pegs stack by stack, five high, with the flat artwork on the foredeck, the bridge front and the stern. A mount on the back hangs it on the wall.

The finished model hangs flat on the wall, deck facing the room.
The details
The stern carries the nameplate IMO 9993858, Interasia Transcend, Singapore. Flat artwork dresses the foredeck and the front of the bridge.
