How we built it

The brief
Step 1 of 5

- PA12 nylon
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, Atlas Copco's Specialty Rental team in Southeast Asia handed us one existing Operational Excellence Cup and asked for a matching set, made exactly like it, for their Southeast Asia 2025 awards.
Design
Step 2 of 5
We redesigned the trophy in 3D to match the original: miniature machines on two twisting arms, icon discs and a lettered plate. The original had one fault: its symbols were debossed when they were meant to be embossed, so we corrected that in our model.
Production
Step 3 of 5
We 3D printed the parts in PA12 nylon, then primed them grey ready for paint.
Build & assembly
Step 4 of 5
We painted each trophy gold and finished it by hand, picking out the raised lettering and icons in black. We masked the discs and plates between coats, and a plate for the region and year screws to the base.

The set was ready for Atlas Copco to collect on 03/07/2026: gold trophies with black lettering and icons, for Specialty Rental's Southeast Asia 2025 awards.
