Toshvin & Shimadzu 50th Anniversary Trophy

Some milestones deserve more than a plaque. To mark 50 years of partnership between Toshvin and Shimadzu, we designed a commemorative medallion: a coin-style gold face embossed with a bold “50” and “Years of Partnership”, crossed by a royal-blue ribbon banner and raised on its own matching stand. The dates 1970 to 2020 sit at the foot of the coin, and both company names run across the banner in raised white lettering.

How we made it

The whole piece was 3D-printed in resin for a crisp, detail-holding surface, then post-processed by hand so the large flat face reads smooth and solid rather than layered. From there it was hand-painted: a warm metallic gold across the coin and stand, a deep royal blue for the banner, and clean white for the raised “50”, the lettering and the two company names.

The banner and the two-piece stand were built as separate elements, so the finished award reads like a struck commemorative coin on display rather than a flat panel. The result is a substantial, shelf-ready keepsake that gives a five-decade partnership the sense of occasion it earned.
