What we brought

  1. What we can do

    Open lattice in one print

The wave holder's honeycomb top and curved ribs came off the printer as one piece, with nothing glued on.

  2. How we look after you

    A pattern on every face

The teal cup's diamond facets run all the way round, printed into the wall itself, not added afterwards.

  3. What you get

    Checked with real pens

Each holder was loaded with markers, pens or brushes to check every slot held them upright.

Wave holder
An open honeycomb lattice over curved ribs
Faceted cup
A round cup with a diamond pattern
Colours
Grey for the wave, teal for the cup

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we 3D printed two pen holder designs. Each holds markers or brushes upright on a desk and prints as a single piece: a wave-shaped lattice holder and a faceted cup.

Step 2 of 4

Each holder printed in one piece on our FDM printers. The wave holder's honeycomb cells and the curved ribs below them print as thin walls.

Build and assembly

Step 3 of 4

With nothing to join, we loaded each holder with markers to check every slot held them upright, then photographed the wave holder under red and neutral light.

The final build

Step 4 of 4

Two finished desk pieces: the grey wave holder, holding a row of markers, and a teal faceted cup for pens and paint brushes.
