What we brought

  1. What we can do

We print the new design and the old building together

The original facade, arched windows and gable sit under the red fluted block, so both read at once.

  2. How we look after you

We print the whole site, not just the building

The square, plaza, streets and people surround the building, so the scheme reads in its city.

  3. What you get

A model that holds its own beside your boards

In the same white, red and grey as his boards, with a raised name plate on the base.

The brief

Step 1 of 4

Site
Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Hanoi

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made the full site model of the Hanoi Film Centre & Archive, Yong Jun Sek's NUS architecture scheme for Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in Hanoi.

Fabrication

Step 2 of 4

We 3D printed the whole model: the white building, the red fluted block, the clear round drum at the back, the grey site panels, the hedges and the red figures.

The building and its site panels.
The clear drum at the back.

Build & assembly

Step 3 of 4

The site panels were joined into one base and the building set on it. Red figures, hedges, road arrows and the raised name plate were placed across the site.

The whole site, joined as one.
The curved edge along the water.

The final build

Step 4 of 4

The finished model shows the red block floating over the original facade, the stepped plaza in front and people across the square and streets.

Across the plaza to the front.
