What we brought
What we can do
Shaped around the sensor
The sensor is in the 3D model, so each holder's clip could be checked against it on screen before printing.
How we look after you
Made easier to print
In the first revision the bite end was made flush with the sensor holder, to make the parts easier to print.
What you get
Refined step by step
Revision 1 rounded the edges and made the holders thinner. Revision 2 added a zero-reference tab to each holder.

- Our scope
- 3D design over three revisions, then printing in PLA
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed and 3D printed a set of dental sensor holders for a private client. There are three holders, in red, yellow and blue, each ending in a clip that holds the sensor.
Three revisions
Step 2 of 5
Each revision went to the client as renders of the parts laid out apart and side views of each holder, with the changes labelled.
-
Revision 0
The bite end was made flush with the sensor holder, to make the parts easier to print.

-
Revision 1
Thinner holders, the bite end still flush, and rounded edges.

-
Revision 2
A thin upright tab on each holder, labelled as the zero reference.

The prints
Step 3 of 5
We 3D printed the holders in red, blue and yellow PLA in our studio.
How it goes together
Step 4 of 5
The sensor sits in the clip at the end of a holder, as in the renders of the final design.
The final build
Step 5 of 5
The client received the holders of the final design, 3D printed in red, blue and yellow PLA.
