At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made a wedding keepsake for a private client. They wanted their wedding photo as a 200 mm piece that stands on a shelf, with a personal message on the base.

Concept

Step 2 of 5

The concept set out a flat panel cut to the couple's outline, slotted upright into a low black base with rounded ends, leaving the front of the base for a short message.

Production

Step 3 of 5

The wedding photo was UV printed in full colour on clear acrylic and cut to the couple's outline, with a clear tab left at the foot. We 3D printed the base in black PLA with a slot to take the tab.

Build and assembly

Step 4 of 5

The panel's clear tab slides into the slot in the base, holding the photo upright, and the message sits in white lettering across the front.

The client collected a keepsake that stands on its own: the wedding photo cut to the couple's outline, on a black base carrying their message.
