What we brought
What we can do
Three ways to hold it
The first round put two friction-fit holders and a full case side by side, so the client could see how much case each option needed.
How we look after you
The scanner is part of the case
The card scanner sits in the case under the screen, with a notepad slot beside it and a grip shaped into the back.
What you get
Every side shown on screen
Each round came as renders from several angles, and the final design from all five sides, so the client could check every detail.

The brief
Step 1 of 3
- Holds
- A tablet, and its stylus in the full case
- Our scope
- 3D design and renders, handed over as 3D files
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed a tablet case for Softkite. The brief covered two kinds: a friction-fit holder that grips the tablet, and a full case. Both needed a card scanner built in under the screen.
From three options to one design
Step 2 of 3
The first round, Revision 0, showed three options. By Revision 2 the full case had a card scanner, a notepad slot and a grip on the back, with a friction-fit version beside it.
-
Revision 0
Three options: a friction-fit holder with an RFID reader and an empty slot for more features, an economical holder with the reader only, and a full case with a stylus holder and a grip on the back. The holders run longer to take stress off the USB-C connection.

Revision 2
The full case taken forward: a card scanner and a notepad slot under the screen, the stylus along the side and an ergonomic grip on the back, shown from five sides. A friction-fit version kept the same two slots.

The final build
Step 3 of 3
Softkite received the 3D files of the final design and the renders shown on this page: a tablet case with a card scanner and a notepad slot under the screen, a place for the stylus and a grip on the back.
