What we brought

  1. What we can do

Made to fit a figure we did not design

We modelled capes, skateboards and shoes around the existing figure files, every colour split keyed to ±0.2 mm.

  2. How we look after you

    Fit problems solved by testing

Figure necks varied and ribbon frayed, so we trialled bands until one fitted every head.

  3. What you get

    Both brands on every piece

The Hour Glass and MB&F logos sit debossed on each cape and skateboard, sized to read cleanly.

Accessories
Capes, skateboards and two-tone shoes
Figures
Two sets of five designs, textured, off-white

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we designed and made accessories for the Minimilian figures of The Hour Glass x MB&F. They needed capes, skateboards and shoes that fit every figure, come off again and carry both logos.

Design and prototyping

Step 2 of 5 · 15/09/2025

We modelled each accessory around the figure files, splitting every colour into its own keyed part to ±0.2 mm. Revision 0 showed the whole set exploded, with cape and skateboard alternatives.

  2. Revision 1 · 23/09/2025

Both logos went on each accessory, one on each side, with every colour matched to a paint chart.

  3. Revision 2 · 26/11/2025

The cape became much thinner and lighter, with the logos moved onto a flatter surface.

  4. Revision 3 · 27/11/2025

The cape lost its flaring ends so the MB&F logo reads clearly.

  5. Final design · 20/01/2026

The hour glass icon on the cape came down to 8 mm high.

Production

Step 3 of 5 · 22/09/2025

We printed test pieces to check the fit, then the figures in resin with a textured skin. Painted samples, logo icons for AR scanning and colour trials followed. Each skateboard became one single-colour piece so no wheel could come loose.

Build and assembly

Step 4 of 5 · 03/02/2026

Capes and skateboards were sanded and spray-painted. Each cape is held on by a black rubber band, cut snug with its ends sealed by heat, and every piece was wrapped in acid-free paper.

Step 5 of 5 · 27/02/2026

The run went to The Hour Glass in two boxes, one of capes and one of skateboards, 52 of each in red and blue, with both logos on every piece.
