Badang Pen Holder

A Badang pen holder we produced for the National Heritage Board, celebrating a legendary strongman from Singapore’s folklore. Badang is sculpted mid-feat with his arms thrown up overhead, and the gap between his hands cradles a pen, turning his mythical strength into a useful desk piece. It was made as a batch of identical figures for a corporate gift.

The strongest man in the land

In the legend, Badang gains extraordinary strength and is famous for hurling a great stone across the river mouth. We took that idea of raw strength and built the pose around it: a muscular torso, arms raised as if lifting something far heavier than a pen. Sculpted and SLA resin printed, then hand-painted with realistic skin, dark hair and a sash at the waist, each figure keeps the same crisp detail across the whole run.

A gift that works on a desk

Because it was a corporate gift, the piece had to be more than a display: it also holds a pen. Resin printing let us produce the figures in a consistent batch, and hand-painting gave each one the same finish before it was mounted on a branded base carrying the National Heritage Board’s message. The result is a small tribute to a local legend that earns its place on a desk.
