We 3D printed a base around Crestron's own camera, with recessed sides for holding and a gold nameplate in front.

Crestron saw every change in 3D first: the second design added the green LED and tilted the camera down.

A push button on the back lights the camera green; a charging port beside it keeps the battery charged.

Use: Top sales award, presented by Crestron
Display: Clear acrylic case over the base

At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made a camera trophy for Crestron's 1 Beyond Top Sales Award. Crestron wanted the award to be their own product and supplied a non-working camera for us to build around.

Design and prototyping

Step 2 of 5

We modelled a base for the camera with recessed sides for holding, a gold nameplate on the front and a clear acrylic case over it all.

First design

We added a green LED, push button and charging port, tilted the camera down and shortened the plate wording.

Production

Step 3 of 5

We 3D printed the base in PETG-CF, a stiff, matt carbon-fibre-filled material, with a seat for the camera on top and the push button and charging port set into the back.

Step 4 of 5

We fitted the green LED so the camera looks switched on, mounted Crestron's camera on the base, set the gold nameplate into the front and covered it all with the clear acrylic case.
