What we brought
What we can do
Designed to the bottle you already use
We modelled the attachment to the 5-litre bottle's neck thread and drew its critical sizes before printing.
How we look after you
Samples first, then the batch
Millice tried printed sample sets and earlier designs before we made the 50-set run in PA12 nylon.
What you get
Repeat orders from the same files
When Millice needed more, we made another batch from the approved files, with no tooling to pay for.

The build
How we built it
5 steps, from the brief to the finished piece. Pick a step to jump to it.
The brief
Step 1 of 5 · 05/03/2025
- Bottle
- 5-litre blown plastic bottles
- Contents
- Liquid soap
- Requirement
- The cap must seal without leaking and must not break.
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we design and make threaded parts in batches. Millice needed a coupler and cap for its 5-litre liquid soap bottles that would hold a dispensing fitting without leaking or breaking.
Design and samples
Step 2 of 5 · 18/03/2025
We modelled the coupler around the bottle neck and tested printed samples. When Millice came back with new measurements and a longer cap, we reworked it, then drew the final 5-litre attachment with its critical sizes.
-
First concept · 18/03/2025
We modelled a first concept for the jug coupler.
-
Two options · 01/04/2025
We designed a threaded sleeve and a modified cap, and made test samples of each.
-
New measurements · 16/04/2025
Millice measured again and asked for a longer cap, so we reworked the design.
-
First nylon sets · 01/07/2025
We made five sets of the cap and adaptor in PA12 nylon for Millice to try.
-
5-litre attachment · 25/08/2025
We designed an attachment and ring cap for the 5-litre bottle and printed four sample sets.
Drawing
Production
Step 3 of 5 · 28/08/2025
We made the run in black PA12 nylon by MJF 3D printing: 50 sets of the attachment and ring cap, plus 10 sets of the earlier cap and adaptor.
Counting and packing
Step 4 of 5 · 09/09/2025
We laid every attachment and ring cap out in rows to count each set before packing.
The final build
Step 5 of 5 · 16/09/2025
Each attachment screws onto the 5-litre bottle, and its ring cap holds the dispensing fitting and steel tube in place. Millice came back in September for another batch of the same parts.
