What we brought
What we can do
A whole landmark in one clear resin print
Arches, stepped seating, arena floor and round base all came off the printer together, in one print.
How we look after you
The supports and clean-up are handled for you
The open arches and tiers were held on a lattice of supports, then every one was taken off.
What you get
A model you can read from every side
Light passes through the clear resin, so the tiers and arena show through the outer walls.

The brief
Step 1 of 4
At Additive Inn, our 3D printing studio in Singapore, we made this Rome Colosseum scale model, printed in clear resin by SLA. It shows the building today: a ring of arches, one tall fragment of outer wall and seating tiers round the arena.
Fabrication
Step 2 of 4
The model was printed hanging from the build plate, on a lattice of thin supports that hold up the overhanging arches and tiers. That is what lets such an open building come out in one print.
Support removal and clean-up
Step 3 of 4
Every support then came off and the whole model was cleaned up, leaving the arches, seating tiers and arena floor intact on the round base.
The final build
Step 4 of 4
The finished model sits on its round base and reads from any side and from above.
