Silicone Emblem Mould

A translucent silicone mould for casting a round emblem. We started with a 3D-printed master, a disc with a raised hourglass motif, then cast a soft, flexible silicone tool around it. The result is a mould that picks up the emblem crisply and turns out the same round piece every time.

From a printed master to a silicone tool

A good mould starts with a good master. We modelled and 3D printed the emblem as a positive, so the hourglass and the round border are clean and consistent before any silicone is poured. Casting silicone around that master captures the fine detail and gives a flexible tool, so each finished piece releases without sticking or tearing. Because the master sets the shape, every cast comes out identical.

Built to be cast again and again

Silicone suits a job like this: it is flexible, hard-wearing and releases easily, so the mould stands up to repeated pours. The recessed cavity means the emblem sits proud on each finished piece, ready for casting in resin, plaster or whatever the run calls for. It is a simple, practical example of our moulding and casting work, turning one 3D-printed master into a tool that makes many copies.
