Rhino Trophy

We developed a rhino trophy for The 5th Singapore Infantry Brigade to be given as a token of appreciation for one of their members. They provided the design for the rhino piece as well as the art for the background, both of which we helped modify to be assembled together nicely. The base was designed from scratch to display the metal name plate and to hold the casing around the rhino model.

Process

  • First, we modified the 3D file provided by the client in a CAD software by defining the features of the rhino and making the file ready for printing.

  • A digital preview of the model was sent to the client to help them visualise how their product would look and how it would be assembled before it is printed.

  • Once the final design was approved by the client, it was sent for 3D printing

  • After the model was 3D printed, each piece was sanded down to give it a smooth finish. The pieces were then spray-painted and assembled to create the rhino trophy.

Modified Design

We shortened the model as requested and added more definition to the eyes. We created the base from scratch and designed it to hold a metal name plate, as well as an extrusion around the bottom to hold the acrylic casing.

3D Printing

Once the final design was approved by the client, it was sent for 3D printing

Finishing

After the model was 3D printed, each piece was sanded down to give it a smooth finish. The pieces were then spray-painted and assembled to create the rhino trophy.
